Oh, yes, and pointing out/bringing out any old literature that contradicts what's being taught will certainly get one accused of apostasy.
"Move with Jehovah's chariot", a step behind or ahead is wrong. This and the Proverb text that talks about the path becoming clearer are golden commentary for JWs and what keeps so many in the fold.

ok so last night i had the scariest dream.
Indoctrination plays a big role in the subconscious mind. Our deepest fears come out in our dreams.
This is one of the ways that ex-jws may have left the Org, but the indoctrination received will never leave.

One of the best examples that building fame and fortune by getting beat up creates a horrible existence eventually.
Boxing, MMA, and any other violent contact sport is not good for our physical well being.
As I continue to emphasize, the WTBTS does have a few well-meaning policies, based on biblical directives, that help in living a good life.

the generation that will be no means pass away have passed away.. the 144,000 were sealed up in 1935, oh, no wait, we got that wrong, we still have some.. russel is the faithful and wise servant... oh, no he wasn't it was me, rutherford... no, actually, we got that wrong it's knorr... erm, no we mean the governing body.. shunning is pagan, true christians would never do that (1946)... oh, actually, we should do that too.. the revelation book has been re-written.. the un is the satan's visible organisation.. wtbs signs up for fellowship with the un in 1991.. exposed in the guardian newspaper so ends it's fellowship in 2001.. the greatest man book is now obsolete and replaced with another jesus book.. the mags are reduced in pages.. encouraged to use tablets instead of actual books to save paper (money).
halls being sold off.. congregations sharing halls.. society owned buildings being sold off.. video pertitioning for money only last year to fund a new building.. bethelites reduced.. missionaries sent back home.. young members leaving.. long time members discovering the history and leaving.. how long do you think this religion has left?
i cant see it being here in another 100 years.
It's a financial/real estate empire, so it'll never go away as long as it continues profitable for the controlling masses.
It'll just continue to evolve to fit the current human climate.

anyone else notice that in the video where the sister was reinstated after many years of freedom, that the congregation applauded at the announcement of her reinstatement?
it been a few years since i was an elder, but when i was, we were instructed by the co that it was "not appropriate" to applaud when the announcement of a reinstatement is made from the platform.
his words, "because the one being reinstated is only doing what they should be doing!".
It was okay, then it wasn't, now it's okay again.
Like JT and Lady C said in their 'Ex-JW Critical Thinker' videos: Men's ideas elevated to 'Divine'.
There have been a couple reinstated recently in my Spanish cong; I refuse to applaud as I feel a bit sad they couldn't stay away.

This convention is all about recycling the same 'fear' instilled in JWs during the early 70s, early-to-mid 80s and mid 90s.
So, now that there's a new impressionable generation of JWs listening, well, it's time to put the 'fear' in them so that the same behavior based on fear, obligation and guilt happens all over again. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!
This hopefully will fail royally because we now have the WWW with all the information on past fear mongering tactics used by the WTBTS.

my initial pangs of unease and doubt led me to research some things.
well, a lot of things really.
i've never felt comfortable using the bible to try to calculate dates (1914).
In wanting to keep family/friends, I'm one of many that only remain for the time being physically present but nothing they can possibly say reaches us mentally/emotionally; the 'Teflon' class.
TTATT is the best that's happened to so many inside the Org. The WTBTS has become a buffet style religion for some and nothing more than a social contact for others. Long live the WWW!

even though, i was raised in a witness home, i never remember hearing that girl scout cookies were a no-no.
and even though i've only been baptized for a few years, i don't remember any specific admonishment of these sweet treats.
but recently at work a jdub coworker made it a point to remind me that jw's do not buy or eat girl scout cookies.
FTS to that!
Every single year for the last 20+ years I've been buying and eating Girl Scout cookies from my co-workers.
Gotta divide the BS from the WTBTS and what's real. Very important to use intelligence, common sense and critical thinking.
